Robert Waltl unique interpretations of children’s tales by Hans Christian Andersen, Ivana Brlić-Mažuranić, Enes Kišević, Andrej Rozman Roza, Karel Čapek, and Nina Mitrović give a special signature to his directorial opus. As with his other projects, distinguished by a subtle synthesis of contemporary music (hip-hop, rap, electronics), light and design, and lavish costumes, Mišmaš Bakery also gathers a group of diverse artists who transform Svetlana Makarovič's cult work of Slovenian literature into a child-friendly performance for today’s audience by using the most state-of-the-art stage solutions.
A story about a bakery famous in all the neighbouring villages thus comes to life in front of us; a story about the goodness of the modest baker Mišmaš who gives out bread to poor children, a story of the mean and sharp Jedrt who will pay any price to find out how Mišmaš manages to bake such good bread, and a story about a miserable cat, so exploited by Jedrt that he decides to stay with Mišmaš in the end …
The performance is a co-production between the Mladinsko and Mini teatra. |
