Pier Paolo Pasolini

Amado mio

(a co-production of the Mladinsko and ŠKUC Theatre)

Director: Ivan Peternelj

Opening night: 26 September 2009

Overview

Possibly one of Pasolini's most intimate works that develops alongside with the memories of the wonderful town of Idrija, where the author lived when he was nine, Amado mio is a story of love. The main line of the performance is the relationship between Pasolini and his admired one – an explosion of suppressed sensuality and sinfulness – and also the “abstract, eternal moment of pure desire”, which blossoms in the absurd time of the Second World War, when the fear of death is mixed with the banal and the obscene, when the atmosphere is perverted and suffocating.
