I am not the one who is attacked, I’m attacking you, I am not the one who’s accused, I’m accusing you. Defend yourselves!
A story in which the danger increases to a horrifying extreme that violent courage that bestows the demonic with a hint of romantic beauty. A story in which the events rule the man and not vice versa. A story, endlessly exciting, hypnotic, magnificent, monumental, strange, bizarre, but also insanely sublime, hot and sensual. A story in which the brilliance of imagination, sophisticated absurd, and surrealist fantasy confirm that nothing is real unless it is made up and that we don’t live to understand, but to think and dream. A story in which blood is too hot to cool down. A story in which the mind can no longer find an exit. A story in which the dark embodiment of evil and blindness wins over the light of the sun. Let’s not be virtuous, when vice is winning all the time.
The story begins on the February night of 1933 when the Reichstag was on fire and ends immediately after the notorious “Night of the Long Knives” in June 1934 and describes the fall of a German family in the time of the Nazi rise to power. |
